December 30
I Was Three
I was playing in the backyard
Of my Grandparents house.
Both of my parents were gone at work.
I was three.
—————
I found a fountain
I sat down in the water.
The fountain fell…
I was three.
—————
A cold liquid trickled down my face
Filling me with shivers of fear.
When the liquid reached the side of my mouth
And I tasted the bitterest taste of all
I knew something was wrong and I began to fell the pain.
I started to cry and ran to my grandpa.
I was three.
—————
My grandma saw me first,
She screamed
Which made me cry harder.
I was three.
—————
I was put in the car
With a paper towel pressed to my head.
To where I was going? I had no idea.
I was three.
—————
We reached our destination
And I was soon in the arms of strangers
Who laid me down on a bed
That must have been made of stone
It was so cold and hard.
I was three.
—————
The sharp pain of being poked
By needles so thin you could barley see them
Soon began to make me cry and wish my mom was there to hug me
And tell me everything was going to be okay.
I lay there, three.
